FEED A NEEDY FAMILY TO SURVIVE COVID-19
We are at a critical point where there is need for a massive effort to keep each other safe from the deadly COVID-19 and hunger. To stave off the spread of the new coronavirus, Uganda government instituted one of the toughest lockdowns in the world. Consequently, many less able families have been left to live on one cup of porridge a day. The government effort to feed the population have been too little to reach every needy family. In response Kings’ Norton Foundation Uganda (KNFU) has decided support the government effort by coming to the rescue of most vulnerable families in its community with food stuffs like maize flour, rice, beans, salt and cooking oil to keep the parents and children alive till the lockdown is over.
KNFU is a Christian NGO that supports inclusive education, ensuring children with special needs access quality mainstream schooling to build their capacity, self-esteem, life skills and supporting their parents to cope with challenges of care. As an organisation, we have been challenged by the outrageous starvation of families in our community. We are afraid that some people will die of starvation than the virus itself. Due to the current lockdown and the prevailing poverty in our country, many needy families have been left needier especially young children.
COVID-19 has affected all of us in a way no crisis has. If you are coping and able to help someone worse off, now is the time to act. Despite KNFU helping a few families, the need is still too big, a reason we as an organisation are appealing to each one of you to join hands with us to at least provide a meal to a family for a week with $20 US dollars. We are determined to serve at least 250 families. Before COVID-19 struck, many people were living on hand-to-mouth jobs and since these were shut down, they have no savings left to live on. The government of Uganda scheme to give 5kgs of maize flour and 2kgs of beans has only reached the inner city leaving the outskirts in an outcry because the need is too much. Each one of us can make a difference. Your contribution will be used to buy food, fuel to cook it and cleaning soap for a family. Your contribution will be highly appreciated.

WE ARE AIMING TO FEED 250 FAMILIES WITH FOOD WORTH $20 A WEEK
